The phone has been in the news for a long time now being teased and leaked endlessly and finally, has gone official with this launch in China.
Realme X2 Pro: Design and Display
The X2 Pro follows the templated design language of the recent Realme phones like the Realme X and Realme XT. Being a flagship, the Realme X2 Pro is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and back. The back is slightly curved for better ergonomics and comes in two color options – Ocean Blue and Midnight Silver. There are two Master Editions as well which come in red and grey colors. The placement of Realme logo will surely be a discussion point for a while.
Realme X2 Pro has a 6.5-inch “fluid” Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. It also has support for HDR10+ and full coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. It comes with the latest-gen in-display fingerprint scanner which Realme claims to unlock the phone in just 0.23 seconds.
Realme X2 Pro: Performance
The X2 Pro is powered by the latest Snapdragon 855+ processor from Qualcomm. This is the first time we are seeing the flagship 800-tier chipset on a Realme phone. To get the best out of the SD 855+ chipset for gaming, Realme has added a vapor chamber through a graphite sheet to help spread the heat more evenly. On the software side, there is HyperBoost 2.0 which promises more stable frame rates while Touch Boost 2.0 is expected to increase touch responsiveness by 35%. The base configuration on Realme X2 Pro has 6GB of RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.1 storage. But the bigger 8/128GB and 12/256GB options come with the faster UFS 3.0 storage. If you are wondering about external storage, you are out of luck as it doesn’t come with one. The device will still run the Android 9.0 Pie with ColorOS 6.1 which is customised for Realme.
Realme X2 Pro: Camera
There is a major step-up on the camera section too. The Realme X2 Pro has a quad-cam setup on the rear with the 64-megapixel Samsung GW1 sensor as the primary lens which comes with f/1.8 aperture. Supporting this are the 13-megapixel telephoto lens with 2X optical zoom (and up to 20X hybrid zoom), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with 115° field of view and finally a 2-megapixel portrait lens. Realme claims that the X2 Pro camera can shoot slow-motion videos, 720p at 960fps. The ultra-wide lens also doubles up as a Macro lens. Surprisingly, Realme X2 Pro has no OIS support on any of the four lenses but does come with EIS support for video shooting (up to 4K). There is also a 16-megapixel selfie camera with 1.0µm pixels and a Quad Bayer filter inside that waterdrop notch. There is a new Nightscape 2.0 mode for both rear and front cameras.
Realme X2 Pro: Battery
Another unique selling point of the Realme X2 Pro is the latest 50W SuperVOOC fast charging support which can fill the first 80% of the 4000mAh battery in just 30 minutes. Interestingly, it supports the USB Power Delivery and Qualcomm QuickCharge standards as well which is a super big deal if you ask us. Additionally, the X2 Pro has dual ultra-linear speakers with individual amplifiers and also a tactile linear motor for haptic feedback.
