Update 2: We did some digging around and it seems that the notification only addresses the earlier standing order which had a flat rate of 41.492% for any item costing over Rs 2,000. That limit has now been increased to Rs 50,000. So any item whose CIF value is less than Rs 50,000 will be assessed at appropriate duty rates (usually between 2 to 28%), and not at a flat rate of 41....

Qualcomm is arguably the biggest Global player when it comes to SoC’s, 3G and 4G modems and it is also involved in security space. The NXP purchase will not only help Qualcomm to broaden their offerings but also ramp up its capacity and eventually achieve larger volumes. As announced before, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 will be based on 10nm nodes. This is a marked improvement over the 14nm based Snapdragon 820 cores. The use of a smaller node means that this CPU will have a highly improved power efficiency. The leaked slides of the upcoming chipset reveal that it consumes about 40% less power than the previous generation model. In fact, the chipmaker goes to the extent of stating that its upcoming chip will consume half the power of a Snapdragon 801....
