We are talking of the Affordable Android Flagship Troika – the OnePlus 2, the Qiku Q Terra and the YU Yutopia. Each delivers a performance and comes with spec sheets that most Android flagships would not mind having, and yet each comes with a price that is surprisingly low for what it delivers. And all of them are in the market at around the same time, giving many consumers that most pleasant of all problems – of which one to choose....

The OnePlus 3 is fitted with a 5.5-inch FHD Optic AMOLED display contained by the ultra thin bezels measuring up at just 0.75mm. Change is in the air…front and back… And that is because, in terms of sheer change, the 7T is perhaps the most radical upgrade we gave seen in a OnePlus T edition. Unlike in the past, where change was largely limited to a better processor, the odd camera tweak and a change of location of the fingerprint sensor, OnePlus has thrown a fair bit at the OnePlus 7T. So much so that one could almost call it an overhaul of the OnePlus 7 rather than an upgrade....

Your way” is a minute-long ad that begins with a guy entering a very informal office space with a colleague with a OnePlus 8 Pro in his hand. A familiar shade of Nord-ic blue We received the Bahama Blue variant of the OnePlus Nord CE 2. It reminded us very strongly of the original Nord, which had a similar shade, although with a slightly different finish. At a time when some phones are going for the “flat side and back” design formula, the Nord CE 2 sticks to a curved back and slightly convex sides and pulls it off very well indeed....

Looks and design: Nor(d)th and South Poles of Design While most smartphones in this price bracket nearly look and feel the same, the Xiaomi Mi 10i and the OnePlus Nord CE could not be more different. The Snapdragon 865 Plus appears more like a refresh to the regular 865, with primary emphasis on gaming and a total of three key improvements. The Kryo 585 Prime core on the Snapdragon 865 Plus is now clocked at 3.1 GHz, which is a 10% increase in the clock speed from 2.84GHz found on the regular Snapdragon 865. Besides, it retains the same architecture, with the same clock speeds for other cores....

The Kirin 970, however, was exclusive to Huawei/Honor devices which meant consumers who use smartphones from a different manufacturer couldn’t experience the AI goodness in completeness. Of course, Qualcomm, one of the largest producers of smartphone chipsets did integrate some AI specific features in their flagship Snapdragon 845 mobile platform with the help of the Hexagon 680 DSP, but there was still a lack of a dedicated NPU like the one found on the Kirin 970....
